Taylor & Lancaster is run by Francis and Barry, Francis is currently training to become a certified TAC Tea Sommelier through the Tea and Herbal Association of Canada. In 2022, they Barry and Francis reached out to me to design the labels for their first ever line of teas. At the time their main focus was cost efficiency. I designed a modular set of labels that used minimal color while still able to be distinguishable from one another.
The next labels allowed much more color into the label. The clients had a very specific color palette in mind, and really wanted to break away from relying on the hierarchy of text to portray importance. Instead, the various tea descriptions and instructions were given their own boxes to truly separate them from each other. I used the primary color of each picture to create a negative space for the individual tea names, using color instead of text size to create the text hierarchy.
